More frequently I find myself answering the same questions regarding my art and the tools I use to create it. Going to post up a few of the more common ones, and if you have a question, feel free to hit the contact form.

Q: I run an art licensing company and I wonder if you want to sell your art for ____?

A: I don’t want to sell my art for tubes, or reprints, or glitter effects. If you’re contacting me about licensing my art for anything. I’m not interested.

Q: What software do you use?

A: Poser 7 from SmithMicro ; DAZ|Studio from DAZ3D ; Vue 6 from E-On Software ; Photoshop CS3 from Adobe
 

Q: Where do you get content?

A: There are a lot of stores for poser content, the 2 most popular ones are DAZ3D and Renderosity. I also run my own store over at vamp3d.
 

Q: I was wondering if you can give any tips on how to do any 3d art like you can?

A: My biggest tip is this: Do not be afraid to push buttons and spin dials and change settings. The key to producing art the way you want it is learning the tools you use to make it. If you see a button and you don’t know what it does, click it! Knowledge is Power. The only way you’re going to get anything decent out of any of the 3D rendering programs is to LEARN them. I religiously read forums trying to absorb as much information as I can. I suggest you do the same.

Q: Could you model something for me?

A: As much as I wish I could model, I just don’t have that skill in my arsenal yet. My work is done using existing models purchased from DAZ3D . If you want to learn to model, there are several cheap/free modeling programs available. Blender, Rhino, Wings3D, Hexagon are a few I know of. Good luck!

Q: Can I use your art for tags/sigs/sparklies/magelo/whatever else?

A: I will allow use of my artwork under 3 conditions: 1) It is not marked as a commissioned artwork. This will be stated in the description of the image on my DA Gallery. 2) My url ( vexiphne.net ) is clearly readable/visible on whatever you do, you may use my artwork in a NON-PROFIT manner.  3) I do not want my art used for tubes or cut out of their original pieces for any reason. If the artwork is on a solid background, you may add your own, but do not cut one out of a scene image and paste it elsewhere.

Q: Will you make something for me, for free?

A: Short answer: no. I don’t have the time to artwork or website work for free. I can answer a question or two if you need help, but as far as “charity” work, unless it truly is for some charity where the art will be auctioned off for donations, then no, I’m sorry, I just don’t have the time.

Q: Can I buy custom artwork/magelo/signature/website ?
